well  it  looks   like   the   start   of    winter  has   come   the  last   few  days   we  have   had  frost.   so   we  have  not  been   able   to    get   anything   done  on  the   plot  and     i   am   away   one   day   again   this   weekend   coming  i  am   going  to   the   national  vegetable    society   seminar  this  is  for  the  scottish   branch  of    it   so i  am   looking   forward   to  it   as   you   always   get   good   speakers   at  it.   also   some   good   tips   and  ideas.  still  lots   to  do  on  the  plot  i  will  have  to   get   the  polytunnel   done  and   get  my   other  small   drums  ready   for  the   short   carrots   next  year  i  have  to   drill   holes  in  the  base  of   them  and  then   get   sand   for  them.  other   jobs  to  be   done  are   get   some   loads   of   seaweed   and   start   to  take   some  of  the   horse   manure  up  to  the  plot  i  am   going     to  make   a   heap  of  it   then    cover  it   and   let  it   sit  for   a   while.  it  is  best  not  to  use  it   right   away   on   plants   as   it  can   burn   them.  still  a bit  of   weeding   to  do.  and   we   still  have    some   seeds   to   send   for  i   have   leeks  in  the   greenhouse  at   the   moment   and   i  will  have  to   pot  them   on   quite   soon  know   heat  in  the  greenhouse   as   yet  and  we   will   wait   a  while     before   we  have  to  use  it.
